Welcome to Wanamingo Township!

Wanamingo township is located in Goodhue County, Minnesota, USA.  Established in 1858, the township landscape is a diverse mix of rolling woodlands and agricultural fields covering 37.6 square miles.  The Zumbro River and it's tributaries meander through the southern valleys of the township.  Streams in the northeast valleys of the township flow into the Little Cannon River.  The 2022 population of the township was 398, with 159 households, and 39 miles of roads.  Agriculture and related businesses are the staple livelihood of most residents.  Abundant wildlife such as deer, wild turkeys, and bald eagles also live in the township.
 

The Wanamingo Township Hall is located at the intersection of Goodhue County Roads 1 and 8. Town Board meetings are held at 5:30 pm on the third Thursday of the month.  Zoning Board meetings are held only when posted, at 7:30 pm on the second Tuesday of the month. All Township residents and visitors are welcome to attend monthly meetings. Official postings can be found in the glass display case to the right of the town hall door. Sample election ballots and election results are also posted in the glass display case.  The official newspapers for Wanamingo Township are the Zumbrota News Record and the Kenyon Leader. The Annual Township Meeting is held at 8:00 pm on the second Tuesday in March. Voting for Township residents takes place from 5:00 to 8:00 pm prior to the annual meeting. The Board of Appeal and Equalization meets in April as posted.
